Making It Right by Helen Wilder
3.0
"I love you more than today than I thought possible."
Rating: ★★★☆☆
♡ Thoughts:
Alannah quickly fell deeply in love with Nicholas Moore. He seemed like her perfect prince charming, and she was ready for their happy ending. But life with Nicholas was more like a tough lesson than a fairy tale. He surprised her by kicking her out while she was pregnant with their child, just before they were supposed to get married. Now he's back, apologizing and asking for another chance to be a family. Alannah isn't sure if she can trust him again. Even though she still loves him, she fears getting hurt again. The tricky part is, that their daughter loves him too. Alannah has to decide whether to give Nicholas another chance or say goodbye for good, knowing it might break her daughter's heart.
I enjoy reading books, especially ones with strong female main characters. It's inspiring to see how they overcome challenges and become even stronger. I've always believed that knowing your worth and respecting yourself is important in any relationship. In the book, I found the first half more convincing, especially with the way Nick reacted when he learned about the pregnancy. But at the same time, I was hoping for more heartfelt apologies and signs of jealousy from him. Maybe my expectations are too high. On the other hand, I also felt sorry for Nick. He went through a lot, yet he still wanted to do everything he could to win back his daughter and the love he lost.
