Mickey Chambers Shakes It Up by Charish Reid

3.5

Mickey Chambers is struggling as an adjunct professor. She can’t teach enough classes to get health insurance or cover her medications, and at 33 she’d like to feel like she’s able to handle her own life.
She picks up a second job at a bar, the Saloon, where she meets the very attractive 42 year old Diego. Diego happens to be a student in her one summer class, but he’s also her boss. And as Mickey says:
Two obvious rules stared her in the face—one: you don’t kiss your student, and two: you don’t kiss your boss.

This book was fast paced, funny, and real. I loved Mickey and Diego. And as a chronically single girl, it gave me hope that a whole lot of dating life can be good after 30 😂
