A Trick of the Light by Louise Penny

4.0

These last two books in the series have been fantastic. There is a shift from focusing on the murder mystery to more about human nature, guilt, and forgiveness. There is a lot going on, with multiple main characters. The portrayal of each person's struggle was nuanced and felt genuine. I am so invested in the cast of characters.

Only critique was that the mystery itself fell to the waist-side. Pretty unsatisfying.

(Also Jean-Guy's interest in a certain character felt weird. She was 15???).
