I don’t think I appreciated Cassie as a character when I first read this series. I love that, in her first POV installment, she’s immediately raising questions of morality over the nature of morphing and suppressing animal instincts. At this point in the series, these concerns are easily brushed aside because morphing is necessary for the war effort. Will future ethical concerns be as easily dismissed?

Also - I love that this book includes not just dolphins but also whales.
