I appreciate the rawness Kaur puts into her work. Sadly, there was a large portion that I was not drawn to personally. However, there were four pieces I truly liked and that resonated with me largely. A number of pieces were beautifully written and had strong meanings that drew me to them. But, Kaur’s poetry is not to my taste. I do understand why her work was so popular and resonated with others so much. A lot of the ideas and themes Kaur mentioned I had a connection to, however I was not drawn to her writing style. Her style is very ‘straight-to-the-point’, simple, short. It overall gave me tumblr-poetry-vibes.
