Let's be honest. This is a total masterpiece work. The story is brilliant and despite it having massively bloated pointless sections it's compelling and keeps you listening/reading no matter what. I first read the book aged about 15 thirty years ago and I've just completed this re-listen via audible and im just as traumatized as the first time. I would give the full five stars were it not for the extreme racist, homophobic, mysogynistic and fatphobic language used, which I know is outdated and King no longer writes like that but it can't be overlooked and it deserves point deductions for the completely unnecessary and disgusting sex scene between the losers club in the sewer at their first battle with IT alone.
