The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
4.0
I wanted to give this book a 5 star rating but certain things missed the mark for me. Whilst I enjoyed the characters, I also found there were too many to keep up with and at points certain characters and their decisions bothered me. The concept of the book was brilliant, I enjoyed the elderly characters different personalities and the retirement home setting. Osman brings so many stereotypes and characteristics into the story and it works really well.
That being said, I was getting a bit bored half way through the book and I kept putting it down not really wanting to pick it back up. I felt like it was too long and it started to jump around a little too much, what I initially enjoyed about the short chapters started to wear thin. Once it started to tie together and the story was coming to an end I really started enjoying it again.
I would definitely recommend and I will be reading the next one when it comes out!
