Everyone needs to read this book! Oh my god it’s literally 2:25am I just read the last 153 or so pages in one stretch. Be sure to have a box of tissues handy!
Samantha and Xavier are both in Minnesota where she is a social media for a mustard company and he is a veterinary doctor. Samantha‘s mother has dementia and her condition is worsening so she’s prepared to leave the next day to go to California to take care of her. Since she has no plans the night before, she decides to go on (what she assumes to be) a casual date with the guy she just met when she took in a stray cat to the vet. What neither of them realize is for both of them it’ll be the best date they’ve ever had but she’s about to leave and move to the complete opposite side of the county. This book deals with the heartache and struggle of love that spans 2,000 miles and figuring out how to be there for each other when your mom is sick or you have a difficult relationship with your parents. It tugs at your heart strings and makes the tears flow but it truly is a wonderful book. Please read this as soon as you possibly can. ❤️
