Runaway Bride by Mary Jayne Baker

4.0

I love a strong-willed, powerful and inspiring heroine, and Baker writes Kitty as a person who is brave and not afraid to stand up for herself. If only there were more people like Jack who are selfless and picks up anything that needs rescuing, usually of the four-legged kind. The story kept on getting better as the pages kept on turning, and Kitty and Jack's love story was passionate and heartwarming, unlike Sebastian and Angel's in Bakers' previous novel The Honey Trap which was more about lust and read as slightly sappy.

The story drew me in from the beginning: why is Kitty running from her wedding? Where will she go without anything but the wedding dress she's wearing? Can Jack be trusted or does he have an ulterior motive? What will her family think back at home?
