I loved reading this whole series but this book disappointed me and honestly has tarnished the whole series for to a certain extent. I wish the author hadn't chosen the death she did.
*spoilers ahead*
I hated that Seb died. It felt like the trope where the only way to redeem a character with a really bad past is for them to sacrifice themselves. He also barely got to have a happily ever after. The author also killed one of the only poly couple of the series which in this context kinda gives me alternative 'kill your gays vibes'. I just felt in a romance series that gave people hea's that killing him off was out of character. The author could have easily continued the trend of killing of side characters and could have included physical disability to represent the cost of war. I am very sad that I had to write this as I genuinely loved the series up to this point.
