I often feel that books/shows/movies don’t give their characters enough time to develop, and i can safely say i did not feel that way with this book

only like the last 60 pages are the battle with the nameless one

there is a lot of build up which i found interesting and overall made me more immersed in the story. 

it did probably take me a good 200 pages to truly understand who the  characters were and their relationship with each other due to just how much world building was happening, but i was ok with it
