I enjoyed a lot of the discussions around race and sexuality in this book. In terms of plot, the first half was great but things started getting a little more predictable toward the end and I didn’t leave this story feeling super shocked. It’s the kind of mystery thriller that doesn’t have life or death stakes, which can be refreshing after higher stakes reads. I think the character development was done really well and I truly enjoyed seeing the way they evolved in their interactions with one another.
