Faking Ms. Right

I love romance, but for every good romance I find, there's at least 20 like this. It gets frustrating sometimes.
Very simple, almost childish characters and ideas. Simple writing that takes a long time to say very little. All surface ideas, no subtext. The plot becomes everything because there's nothing else - but the plot isn't creative either. No understanding of how people connect or even how desire really works.
I really should have stopped reading this the first time I wanted to at less than 10% in. But sometimes things improve so I tried this time. Note to self, life's too short, just give up.
