The Year We Fell Down
by Sarina Bowen
I did not know I was going to love this book as much as I did!
Our FMC, Corey is starting her first year of college and it’s under much different circumstances than she could have ever imagined. During her senior year of high school she had an accident that ended up causing her to become a paraplegic so she’s truly learning how to navigate life in a whole new way.
She is assigned a dorm room to accommodate her wheelchair and therefor meets her new neighbor, Adam Hartley.
Adam has also been put in his particular dorm room due to breaking his leg and needing different accommodations.
They find even ground through their experiences and we get to watch their friendship bloom into something far more special.
I absolutely adored Hartley and his treatment of Corey. He always tried to make her feel normal and like she wasn’t defined by her wheelchair. He truly saw her and I think that meant more to her than anything.
I HIGHLY recommend this book. It’s a fairly easy and quick read and Sarina Bowen’s writing style is just fantastic!
