I really did not enjoy the age gap aspect of the book and I wish the heroine was overage when the book started. This entire plot would have worked just as well if she was in her early 20s instead of 17 at the beginning and would make the Hero a hella lot less creepy (though not entirely). I was hoping the slow burn aspect would last longer to ease up on it but the grooming still would have been strong and the fact that they literally hook up the minute she’s 18 is gross. You can have dark romance without trying to justify that shit.
Kept reading despite that but eventually lost interest. I never really felt the vibe between h and H and when the conflict stopped being about their relationship and was more focused on the side plot of “bad Vegas goons” I decided to call it.
