She's Gone by David Bell
5.0
I haven't had post-book depression quite like this in a while, but woooow. I mean, the person who did it felt a little off throughout the story. There were little hints here and there, but I just ignored them because every thriller has those, you know? The little things to make you suspect everyone. However, I should've taken it seriously because DUDE. DUDE THAT ENDING. **major spoilers** IT'S SO MORBID THAT SHE WAS IN THEIR MF FREEZER MAN JUST WHAT?????? JUST IN THE FREEZER. I was hoping she ran away with someone or was still alive somewhere, but her own damn parents put her dead crispy body in the freezer. That's just crazy in my opinion, but I really do feel for her parents. Chloe's mother was clearly having a mental breakdown of sorts, hinted at by her little "she's coming with us" comment. like wtf???? she's in your freezer???? The dad though, I would be so heartbroken. I do feel for him to an extent, because how would anybody know what to do if they just killed their only child? At that point, I would just kill myself or something. But going off and killing David too, man? That's just fucked. I related to all the "we used to be friends but now you found cooler ones and we drifted apart" shtick., but then he GOT MURDERED THE SAME NIGHT HUNTER WENT TO VISIT HIM MAN. Anyway, this book was pretty fucked and I really enjoyed it.
