Unmatched Chemistry and Unbreakable Bonds
Ahhhh! This series has me SO emotional! This third book in the Death series is pure magic—dark, heartbreaking, and captivating. I felt every single emotion from sorrow to hope as Talon and Calista’s journey deepened. Talon's hidden deal with Bahamut had me on edge, wondering how he could ever keep this secret from Calista and Khazmuda. Their chemistry is unmatched, and despite the intense battles and heartbreak, their love shines through every obstacle, growing only stronger with each challenge.
The character growth is beautifully done. Calista is now this unstoppable force, finally owning her strength and standing her ground even against Talon, while still loving with a fierceness that’s so genuine. And Talon’s journey just breaks my heart—I understand why he hides things from her, but it’s clear the burden is eating at him. The politics, the strategy, and the power play between the kingdoms make the plot so rich, and I couldn’t get enough of the intense battles.
The dragons, the alliances, even the moments of unexpected tenderness amidst the chaos all come together in a way only Penelope could pull off. And that cliffhanger… it’s going to be a long wait for book four - I am already counting down the days!
