Earth's End
by Elise Kova
I called it. I totally called that ending.
I loved this book so much and really enjoyed reading it but I had too many issues with the overall plot. I might not have understood certain things and I definitely know that others will come to play in the next two books.
What happened to Aldrik’s plan of using the lords to pressure the king into granting Vhalla freedom and nobility? Why has he suddenly resorted to accepting his father’s terms in exchange for her freedom?
Why was Vhalla so insistent on retrieving that blasted axe if she wasn’t planning on using it in the upcoming battle? And why was it a good idea to give a weapon like that to Daniel who might have possibly betrayed her?
Did the king have an ulterior motive for refusing Vhalla’s plan? I thought he was doing it to spite her but it doesn’t seem to be that. I’m not really sure what happened there and with Aldrik’s outburst at the end.
What I loved most about Earth’s End was the transformation of Aldrik’s affections: He pleasantly went from a reserved partner to a person who boldly displays his affection.
