This book was slow to start - with 150 pages of set-up I wasn't particularly enthralled in the story. But there's a sharp turn of events mid-story and the pace increases dramatically. Between the slow start and the graphic content, this book won't be for everyone. But I did learn a lot about Sudan, and once the pace picked up I was much more invested in the story.
