The Wonder Boy of Whistle Stop by Fannie Flagg

5.0

There is a certain feeling I get whenever I read a Fannie Flagg novel. It’s comfortable, it’s heartwarming, it can also be heartbreaking, but mostly, it feels like home.

This long time sought after follow up novel to Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, is all of those things and more.

There are more Idgie tales, more town news, follow ups on the townsfolk, and the generations that come after.

Bud Threadgoode is a lovable character that will stick with me for a long time. His daughter, Ruthie, is fantastic. But, the one who steals the show is Evelyn. It was so much fun to bask in all of her success!!

Beautiful book. Brought me to tears just thinking about Idgie and Ruth! 5 bright and shiny stars!
