bellesbookery 's review for:
Psycho Shifters
by Jasmine Mas
I was able to review this book thanks to an ALC from NetGalley and Harlequin Audio. This review is my own opinion and thoughts on “Psycho Shifters” by Jasmine Mas.
3.5 out of 5 stars.
Shifters
Strong MMCs
Strong FMC
Smut (M/M, F/M)
Fantasy
Omegaverse
The story overall was good, for me it was a good read and I had no issue getting through the whole book, but there were parts in the story that had me literally wrinkling my nose in yuck or disapproval with what was going in the story. I did enjoy the FMC Sadie who is a strong sassy chick and I appreciated her perseverance in all that she has been through. Sadie is the kind of girl we would want to be our big sister, someone who is always looking out for you and who will fight for those who can’t, or shouldn’t have to fight, for themselves. Then there are the 3 MMC who are Alpha Shifters, Ascher – a VERY tattooed horned handsome man, Kobra – a gemmed (yes, literal diamonds and jewels about his body) gorgeous man with some snake-like features, and Jax – the leader like member of the trio who has quite a few piercings and can shift into a bear-like creature. We also meet Aran (who I really enjoyed from the beginning and love the OMG moment we get with this character in the end) and Zed who is a supportive friend to Sadie.
We learn there are various realms in this world including the Human Realm, Shifter Realm and the Fae Realm. In the shifter realm there are different kinds of shifters, Null Shifters; basically basic and bottom in their class system, then there are Betas, Alphas who are the warriors and Omegas who are immortal.
As stated above I had an audio version of this, I did very much enjoy the voice actors that were on this audio, I felt the intensity and emotions from each other them and appreciated the differences they each gave to the overall story.
“Psycho Shifters” is a good read if you enjoy shifter stories and don’t have issues with the trigger warnings. (abuse, blood, bullying, death, kidnapping, rape, SA, torture and violence) The book does end in a cliffhanger so be ready for the next one …. Psycho Fae.
