I feel gypped, y'all.

I waited for months to read this book! In October, I put the audiobook on hold via Libby so that I could hopefully read it before Halloween. However, it didn't become available until February. So first of all, I wasn't in the same kind of witchy mood, but also, why did no one tell me how disappointing the ending was?!

This book has some great stuff:
- young lovers to enemies to second-chance adult romance
- hexes gone wrong
- small town
- light academia vibes
- a cast of strong women who stick together
- great lgbtq rep

BUT THE ENDING. WHAT THE HECK.

Okay, I keep bringing it up, but this book took us on a whirlwind adventure from beginning to... 95%. There was flirty banter and spicy scenes and witchy history and evil dads trying to stand in the way of it all and ghostly possession and then all of a sudden - after knowing the characters are trying to get answers throughout the enter book - it wraps up entirely in one super short chapter.

Like, everything got wrapped up in a few pages. And it just felt way too abrupt. I needed a lot more detail than that after learning so much about the town's history, an old feud between witches, and someone trying to keep the lovers apart. It really took the wind out of my sails a bit.

Needless to say, it was an entertaining read, but I won't be going around singing its praises any time soon.
