Eagle Station by Dale Brown

5.0

Review 85 - Eagle Station

The 24th and most current book in the Patrick McLanahan series, but only the 7th book in the Brad McLanahan series.

This book is the final one of my birthday presents to be read as I needed to re-read the 2 previous books before I read this one.

Continuing the theme from the last book, The Kremlin Strike, Eagle Station takes place approximately 2 years from now. The US Space Force is a reality and is using the spaceplanes created in previous books.

Mentioned throughout this book are several pieces of current space technology as well, the Orion spacecraft being designed by NASA for missions to the moon and beyond and the Falcon 9 and Heavy boosters designed by Space X. Also mentioned are the Blue Moon lunar lander (Blue Origin), Bigelow inflatable habitat modules (Bigelow Aerospace), the Delta IV heavy booster (United Launch Alliance) and the Xeus lander concept (Masten Space Systems and United Launch Alliance).

The final Apollo mission to the moon, Apollo 17 , also gets a mention right at the start of the book.

I loved this book as it was centered around space action and in particular the moon.

If you are a space nut (@karens_library and @spacetoread I'm thinking of you here), you will love this book as space is the main theme for it.

I can't recommend Dale Brown's books enough and am definiely going to be adding all 24 of these books onto my 2021 must read books as I want to read through all of them.

I can't wait for the next book in this set to come out.
