this book wasn’t for me. i’m sure a lot of the biblical allegory went over my head. i found a lot of the ‘lyrical’ writing confusing, having to re-read a sentence to get the flow. unfortunately, i was never invested in any of the characters (except for, briefly, ethan) so i didn’t connect emotionally to the story. it took me over a month to read this short book, so that says a lot about that.
