The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe by Romain Puértolas

5.0

I really enjoyed this tale which so aptly portrays the migrant experience, the arbitrariness of borders, and the broken immigration systems globally. It uses humor to explore the way we treat each other and how we create desperate circumstances for others that drive them to do desperate things. A true expose on how interconnected we are, and how the web of human relationships defy national borders.
