Like action-heavy historical fiction with romance and a good does of the fantastic? Good. Read this book. It's engaging and full of heart. The main characters are likable and change a fair bit throughout the story (looking at you in particular, Monty), and the plot is clever and fun. Even most of the side characters have strong personalities and motivation outside good ol' fashioned plot. I'm sad, though, that I don't have the sequel in my hands right now.
