kabbagepatch 's review for:
I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. Would it be historical? Technical? What I got was a wonderfully written story of mathematics' most famous problem and how mathematician, Andrew Wiles proved it, along with all the giants whose shoulders he stepped on, and whose methods he used to do so. Somehow, Singh managed to perfectly balance mathematical technicality and stories behind the proof and keep things moving. And I think the biggest achievement of the book is how simply he was able to explain the complicated mathematics behind the proof
