Self-Made Boys: A Great Gatsby Remix
by Anna-Marie McLemore
As other reviewers have noted, if you're here for the themes of The Great Gatsby, look elsewhere. When viewed transtextually (lol), this book is actually extremely pro-America (I believe by accident).
However, the prose exceeded my expectations and the author is very skilled at creating and developing characters with complex relationships. I do think the ending resolved everything rather too neatly, but overall, it was a fun enough read. I might check out some of the author's other works because of it.
