The Sweet Spot
by Adriana Locke
2.5 stars.
I really really really hate that his diagnosis was used as the conflict for the third act breakup. And I am so sick of one of the characters making decisions for other people they care about without so much as a conversation and honesty. He didn’t even give her a chance or respect her enough to tell her the truth and let her decide for herself. Instead he would rather hurt himself, her, and her son. His reasoning was bullshit and it felt like a lazy and cheap excuse for the third act breakup.
The sad thing is this was looking like a 4-5 star read until the diagnosis and the phone call happened. I loved Cole so much until then. The end of the book just made me angry.
