Shrill by Lindy West

I very much enjoyed reading this book. It was like a breath of fresh air, really. Yes, it deals with difficult, uncomfortable topics, but they are topics that I've been thinking about and reading about for quite a while. I was already angry about many of them, so this book didn't make me angry. It made me hopeful, because Lindy West deals with these issues in such a frank, funny way that it feels like a relief to know she's out there in the world. And I love that this book made me think a lot about the question, "What kind of human being do I want to be?" I didn't expect that.
