These books are so good, they do such a great job evoking the feeling of the time period. The way they speak, the little cultural tidbits dropped in, the nature of the mysteries themselves, it's all very interestingly tied up with the history of the time. I've learned more about Tudor England reading these books than in anything else. And I find the characters really interesting as well, they're very well drawn. Plus, I just love a good murder mystery.
