The Science of Trust: Emotional Attunement for Couples by John Gottman
3.0
This book is not for everyone. If you're looking for personal relationship advice and have no interest in sociology, you probably won't enjoy it. If you're looking for an academic text focused on research statistics, you probably won't love the elements of practical application. Some blend of personal and general interest in the topic of relationship dynamics from a research-based perspective is needed—I had that blend.
I listened to the book, however, and that's not the way to go if you need to see diagrams to understand concepts (I do). I don't think this is a particularly memorable book for me right now, but I'd be willing to re-read it as a hard copy (making flipping to previous sections easier). Ultimately it did get me thinking seriously about things, so it's worthwhile.
