The Last Song
by Nicholas Sparks
The Last Song is the first Nicholas Sparks books I've read, though I intend to read The Lucky One as well. I admit to watching the movie first, and despite Miley Cyrus, I really loved it. So I read the novel and was not disappointed. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well the author is at writing emotion, despite being male. There goes that stereotype. I cried like a baby.
I wouldn't call this groundbreaking fiction or a must-read, but as far as contemporary romances and summer reads go, it was great.
