The Hex Next Door by Lou Wilham
5.0
I'm a sucker for magical realism. I'm also a sucker for good wlw stories. Also also also, I'm a sucker for second chance romance. So going in, I knew I was going to be into The Hex Next Door!
And it sucked me in from the first page, with deep lore and fantastic worldbuilding. The magic system and politics within the witch government is so fascinating, as well as all of the different kinds of magical specialties.
Rus and Azure are well-rounded, interesting characters that have giant bags full of delicious angst right from the get go. This is their second chance after having not seen each other in years and things have changed so much. And when things hit the fan, their priorities are in the right place and it is glorious to see.
The pacing kept me gripped throughout this whole story, and I can't wait to grab the second one! 10/10 recommend!
