📍“I didn’t think I wanted this. But I do. Every morning when your stupid dog wakes me up with his wet nose in my face, I look at you sleeping next to me and I can’t imagine losing you.”
This started off as a 5 star read for me. I was obsessed. But somehow along the way, it just fell off that top place. The second half was surprisingly a 3 star for me. So, I settled right about the middle with a 4 rating.
The things that had me eating out of the palm of Claire’s hand during those first 150(ish) pages:
Audrey’s bubbly personality + the grumpy landlord working next door + the humor — I was laughing out loud + those mysterious chapters + the fast cadence of Claire’s writing 🤌🏼.
The things that threw me downstairs to the 3 star basement:
A chemistry between the MCs that never really clicked + the superficial relationship with all the secondary characters + the soft reveal ahead of the big reveal.
All in all, a fun romance with a good amount of suspense that I do recommend. I’m super excited to check out her other books. I heard the Baileys were amazing 🤩
