After loving How to Kill Your Family, I was keen to try another of Bella Mackie’s books—especially with a couple of friends recommending this one. What a Way to Go had the same slightly dark, humorous tone I enjoy from her writing, and I liked the structure with its shifting points of view. It made for a light, easy read—perfect as a palette cleanser from my usual romance and fantasy picks.
That said, while the murder storyline had potential, it didn’t feel especially original or gripping. I found myself enjoying the genre more than the actual mystery. Still, it’s a solid, entertaining read if you’re after something quick and clever without too much intensity.
