An incredibly disappointing take on one of, if not the most influential tales in literature history. The stories told by Shahrazad in Arabian Nights have gone on to shape the method of storytelling for centuries, and yet no stories at all were retold throughout this book. The young girl's dialogue was a choir to get through, and the lack of drama and excitement from the original books leaves you feeling very unsatisfied.
