Give Me a Sign by Anna Sortino
3.25

This book was cute! I really really loved the use of italics when characters were communicating with sign. It was a great way to represent a visual language.

Unfortunately this book felt like it was for a much younger audience. It takes place at a summer camp, with our main character Lilah being 17, but it felt like she could've been 13 and the story would've been the exact same. Her inner dialogue was very difficult for me to get through because she was just so whiny

I'm ultimately glad I read this book though, because it was terrific representation of the Deaf community.
