Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi (Novel) Vol. 5 (Special Edition) by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu

adventurous dark emotional funny medium-paced

5.0

And so the intertwining story of Jin Ling's various uncles comes to an end. It covers the confrontation of Jin Guangyao and I have to say it's a very satisfying end at least in that department. I will never not be a little bitter about how WWX and Jiang Cheng never really reconciled with each other. But it's hard to let people back into your life once you've already cut them out so I get it.
This story holds a special place in my heart and I doubt I'll ever get tired of it no matter what media I consume it in. Whatever drugs MXTX put into this book I need some of those too for my own writings.
The extras were a nice little sprinkle of plot (poor Bichen...). I liked the ones with the juniors. They're just such a funny group of kids. " 'Jingyi, how can you call him that behind his back?' chided Lan Shizui. 'I call him that to his face too,' said Lan Jingyi, defensively." I love that they often meet up with Jin Ling and go on night hunts together. And that Jin Ling doesn't avoid WWX! Their relationship is finally pure and truly that of an uncle and nephew.
Wei Ying and Lan Zhan end up exactly how I wanted them too, and I love that they can live out the rest of their life happy and together. True comfort character material right there.
Everyday means everyday, y'know??
