its been my favourite book since i was fourteen. wee bit too fond of "mother" england for me and going hand in hand with that, contains the sort of condescending english racism that seems to stem from the inherent belief that the british empire is the natural and supreme state of things, played for laughs. if you can wince your way through that, the rest of it is delightful.
Moderate: Racism
Minor: Homophobia
