Maphead: Charting the Wide, Weird World of Geography Wonks by Ken Jennings

4.0

This book was brilliant - I throughly enjoyed every single page. It is chock full of interesting facts and stories about the world's geographic and cartographic oddities and I couldn't get enough! Jennings is also very humorous and wrote in an easy, enjoyable style. If you're one of those kids who used to pull out an atlas and pour over it much the same way other kids did with 'Where's Waldo' books - you're going to love this. The best chapters were on the national geographic geography bee and on geocaching. The peeks he takes inside these geeky little subcultures are absolutely fascinating. I would highly recommend this book to pretty much anyone with a mild interest in travel and geography. Great stuff!
