I read the Portuguese translation which I couldn't even find on goodreads (only the Brazilian one) so whatever. I didn't realize this was meant to be middle grade because despite the youthful voice (narrator is 9-10 years old) the subject matter is rather heavy. regardless it's a sweet book and it made me cry (not surprising)
