There was no groveling on his end and the heroine forgave him way too fast. She claimed that his absence made her learn to depend on herself and taught her strength and independence but ugh SPOILER she had cancer and a miscarriage and dude just didn’t read her letters for what? He supposedly still loved her and missed her all the time but couldn’t get himself to read the letters he thought were love notes? Man is trash I hated him.
