Drag Me Up by R.M. Virtues

4.0

This book was awesome. Representative, a new take on a great trope, creative and heavy world-building - there is a lot going on in this book. Hades is not your typical Hades - he avoids the semi-feral antihero that tends to be part of this trope - but I still loved him! Persephone is a literal goddess - a trans and bisexual main character whose representation wasn't their entire personality. Also, I really want to be an acrobat now... so thanks for that. Be aware there is a lot of sexual content in this read - it is creative and intense - but it is also a slow burn of a book not action-packed and will not grab you necessarily. There is a lot of world-building and I can't wait to see what Virtues does with the rest of the pantheon and the world they have created!

The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because sometimes the language was a bit awkward and utilized the passive voice which could be distracting.
