Totally entertaining but some of the characters lacked nuance for me. And given that they were largely based on real people, the girlbossification of a few of them rubbed me the wrong way. Very 2023 sensibilities for people living in the South in 1811.
Graphic: Grief, Racism, Slavery, Injury/Injury detail, Misogyny, Fire/Fire injury, and Death
Moderate: Domestic abuse, Physical abuse, and Sexual assault
Minor: Child death, Pregnancy, Rape, Medical content, and Antisemitism
