Destiny's Captive by Beverly Jenkins

Did not finish book. Stopped at 38%.

Why do I need to read his mother's POV? Why do I need to care about her romance with some man when this is not her book?

I came her for lady pirate romance and with the expectation that this will be some cat-and-mouse type of romance. I thought this is a standalone romance that can be read alone but you can't because the main romance sometimes feels like an afterthought.

Anyway, this is my second Beverly Jenkins books and I can't say I enjoy them.
