Dirty Headlines by L.J. Shen

• it fell off for me •

I like LJ Shen. I think this book started off good. It wasn’t a typical bosshole book. It didn’t begin in the work place, but it did have that same kind of dynamic in the workplace.

I was really into this book for the first 200+ pages and it just kinda fell of for me when the real drama and plot twists took place.

I couldn’t get into Jude as a character, she wasn’t relatable for me. I could never see myself being taken seriously in the workplace wearing chucks with work place attire. I think the concept of the colored shoes was good, but kind of out of place in the ritzy business environment of Manhattan.

In terms of the plot and the bones of the story it didn’t come off as fully fleshed out. This man is ridiculously rich and his mother has a private jet but they fly commercial first class to Miami? That didn’t make sense to me. There were a couple little things like this that diminished the story for me.

I wish I liked it more because the premise was honestly delicious. I wish I could say the same for the middle and the end but it just kind of progressively fell off for me.

Happy Reading Friends xx
