I was really excited to read this. A good romance with a bit of suspense. However even though I kept reading the book just didn’t get better.
I was expecting a lot more tbh. Since this was sold to be as a slow burn romance, I wanted the story to ease a bit more on them learning to trust each other and becoming friends before any attraction or feelings developed, but it felt so rushed for no reason. How do you manage to make a slow burn feel rushed? Idk!
Also I noticed at first there were some grammatical mistakes here and there that weren’t that bad, but they just kept coming and it kept me out of the reading. Some basic ones like saying “your weak” instead of “you’re weak”, they just started to pissed me off because of how frequent they were.
Also bc of the rush and their almost insta lust, some of the dialogues felt flat and didn’t really do anything for me.
I’m so bummed out, I had high expectations for this but I just don’t see it getting better anytime soon. I can’t force myself to power through a book that’s not giving me anything.
