I loved the show (at least the first season) and this does well with covering the events of it. I did hope that it would try to stick with some of the original content by Austen for what she had finished, but after having read that, it very clearly didn’t. It definitely doesn’t feel like reading an Austen novel and it seems like something is lost because of that. It also feels like the actors brought a great deal to the performance and some of that doesn’t translate well to the page here.
