An excellent biography of an extremely talented surgeon whose skill was in practice for a seemingly short time. Through this book, we learn of the medical genius' desire to first and foremost provide his patients with compassion and alleviation from their pains. Mutter was a unique man and most definitely working towards progress of both the science behind practicing medicine and providing attentive care for his patients. A truly interesting read.
